This course provides a introduction to the fundamentals of data analysis and business intelligence systems, e.g., data management, data mining and data analysis, machine learning technologies, etc, and their applications in intelligent decision-making and business intelligence (BI) systems. It covers the data and knowledge management, business data mining and analysis, graph-powered machine learning (ML), and its applications in business and finance domain.

This course gives a basic introduction to the information technologies behind intelligent decision-making by combing the basic concepts with some practical use cases in the business and finance domain.

In lecture, the basic data and information technologies, e.g., relational database, datawarehouse, data modelling and analysis, knowledge bases, and graph data modelling and anlysis, etc, behind intelligent decision-making will be introduced.

In seminar, the corresponding tools,e.g., RapidMiner, Colab, Neo4j, Grakn, Tabular BI, etc. will be introduced and some practical demo will be given to help the students to understand how does these technologies work in business and finance.
